Background

Prior to joining the academia, I was a Research Officer in a Malaysian government agency from 2003-2006 and I was involved in the coordination of ISO27001:2005 Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) certification project for the government agency. In 2006, I joined the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) as a Lecturer in the Department of Information Systems, Faculty of Information and Communication Technology. In IIUM, my taught courses were IT Security and Management Information Systems (MIS) for the undergraduates, and Security Risk Management and Security in Government for the Postgraduate Diploma in Security Management. I was a member of ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 27/WG 1 “Information Security Management Systems”, Information Security Technical Committee, Department of Standards Malaysia (2008-2009). I also hold a certificate of Lead Auditor for ISO27001:2005 ISMS from EQS Asia - Excel Partnership UK.
