Research

My research explores the way people use and understand information technology. This involves design investigations into new applications of IT, and also studies into how systems of people and IT come about and take the shape they do. Here are some current projects with illustrative publications.

Mobile technologies for learning about the Built Environment. A new project supported by the Australian Learning & Teaching Council (2011-2013), with Hannah Lewi, Shanton Chang, Andrew Saniga, Diego Ramirez-Loving & Lee Stickells

Using social network sites for ambivalent socialisers: the case of smoking cessation. A project supported by the Australian Research Council Linkage scheme and QUIT Victoria (2011-2013), with Steve Howards, Jon Pearce, Ron Borland and Bernd Ploderer.

Using new digital technologies for representing history and place: A design invesigation into a mobile guide for historic sites.
