Call for Participants - The Social World of Raiding
Are you an experienced World of Warcraft player? Are you involved in raiding or have you been a raider in the past?
Here at The University of Melbourne we are studying the activities and social interactions of people who play World of Warcraft.
We are interested in how and when people play, who they play with, and what they do in the game. We are also interested in how they manage to find the time to play and how they fit playing into the rest of their lives.
We are currently interested in the activities of people who regularly participate in raiding, or have done so in the past.
As a participant in our study, you will be asked to:
• Participate in an interview.
• The interview should last between 60 and 90 minutes.
• This interview can occur at a time and place of your choice. However, if possible, it would be useful for it to occur in the place you normally play World of Warcraft.
The project does not involve any risks. The only anticipated inconvenience for you is the time taken. The information you provide will be treated as confidential and only used for research purposes connected to this project.
Participants must 18 years or older. Younger people, 15 years or older, can participate if their parents agree.
If you would like to participate, or would like more information about the study please contact Dr Martin Gibbs on (03) 8344 1394 or by email martinrg@unimelb.edu.au
