Main foci
Currently, my main foci are:
1. PhD supervised by Liz Sonenberg. The working title is currently: "Supporting join human-agent decision making in unfamiliar and unpredictable situations." More on this when I get some more time to edit this page and to create my research page.
2. Teaching and co-ordinating UNIB10005 Internet Meets Society. This year we have over 145 students!! This is the 3rd year running that I am doing this, and the cohort this year seems really enthusiastic (and on the ball).
I was employed on a few projects over the years.
1. 2006-2009 (some ongoing writing and analysis) "Maximising the effectiveness of interactive automated programs for smoking cessation" , a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) grant (#396405). Awarded to Borland, Graham, Balmford and Howard, 2006-2009. I was the University of Melbourne research fellow on this grant.
2. 2007 "Sharing Lifeblogs" $15K awarded to F.Vetere by Nokia Finland (research contract). I was employed as research fellow on this.
3. 2005/6 "Bridging the gap: Smart Support for the intergenerational distributed family" $150K awarded to M.Gibbs, F.Vetere, & S.Howard by Smart Internet Technology CRC (project UE10). I represented the industry partner (Telstra) during their involvement with the SITCRC.
I also worked as IDEA Lab manager along with Frank Vetere. Someone else does this now thank goodness.
Extra Curricular Activities
A few different forms of cycling, listening to music, and trying to be a decent Family Man (well, not like that, but I do like Black Flag).
